墨方荣幸地宣布，我们将于2022年9月24日举办艺术家严岩的最新展览“水 花园 镜子”。展览将持续到2022年11月6日。

自学校毕业起，严岩就开始尝试往抽象绘画的范畴去延伸自己的作品，尝试过在宣纸上直接丙烯上色，布面色块拼贴……等等创作手段，也是一个生长的过程。现在的作品是一种线条的表现形式，线条在作品中代表着骨骼，它让作品有了力量。这种力量是艺术家自我本身的一个诉说的出口，也是一个很具体的表现，在抽象与具象之间游走。生活的感触是绘画的源泉，当然也包括音乐和诗歌。骑车压过的马路补丁，那种不平衡的感觉会让你的身体反射出不一样的感受，人与自然直接微妙的关系，那种看不见的东西是最迷人的。在画面中去建立一种精神的图景，这样的一种性格和品质是非常重要的，并且，在这个层面上虚飘着的目光之上去想象、寻找这种性格和品质，就像哲学家借助逻辑概念推导出哲学新命题一样。 

Mocube is honoured to present Yan Yan’s latest exhibition Water Garden Mirror. The exhibition will run until 6 November 2022.

Since graduating from school, Yan Yan have begun to extend my works into the category of abstract painting. I have tried applying acrylic paint on rice paper, collage of colour blocks on canvas, and other creative methods, which was a process of developing. The current work is a form of expression of lines. And the lines represent the bones of the work, which gives its strength. The work oscillates between abstraction and figuration. It is an outlet for Artist's self-narratives, yet a very particular expression. The thoughts of life, music, and poetry are the source of my painting. The unbalanced feeling of riding over a road patch by bicycle would prompt new body senses. This kind of invisibility, the direct yet subtle relationship between humans and nature, is the most fascinating. It is very important to establish a spiritual prospect in the picture and to conjure this character and quality above the vacant retinal gaze, like a philosopher using the help of logical concepts to deduce philosophical new propositions.

关于艺术家

严岩，现工作生活于上海、杭州。2008年毕业于中国美术学院壁画系。他曾举办过的个展：“信使”，BLANKGallery，上海，2021；“沿沿”，亦安画廊，北京，2017。他曾参加过的群展包括：“更 @ 抽象 ”，力利记艺术空间，北京，2016；“致未来 ”，復言社，北京，2016；“苏利文的阁楼”，妙有艺术空间，北京，2016；“破 | 绽—图画手工第六回”，偏锋艺术空间，北京，2015；“Small is Beautiful III”，季节画廊，北京，2015。公共收藏：澳大利亚LAILAI美术馆。
